HOST INTRO

Emma: You’re watching Take 21, I’m Emma Wiatrzyk

Natalie: And I’m Natalie Zazulyk. You know Emma, I’m really looking forward to the show we have today.

Emma: Yeah me too. I have a question for you. If you could choose to work out, or go on a diet, what would you do– but first, your workout is pole dancing, and the diet consists of ONLY cabbage soup. What would you do? GO!

Natalie: I think I would pole dance, even though I’m not the most athletic person in the world.

Emma: Well whatever you choose, you will certainly find out more about it on today’s show.

TT FAD DIETS

Natalie: We all know how well the Jenny Craig diet worked for Kirstie Alley. Well some of our crew members, including myself, took on the challenge of testing out the latest fad diets for a week. Take a look at how it went.

TOP TALK NUTRITIONIST

Natalie: Here with us to help us better understand these fad diets is registered nutritionist Dianne Solano, thanks for being here.

TT TEASER POLE DANCE
Natalie: Here’s what’s happening later in the show.

TT TOP DEMO GLUTEN FREE

Emma: Okay Natalie, I have two cupcakes here, try them and tell me which you like more.

Natalie: Honestly Emma, I don’t know if I’ll be able to tell, I’ve been on a diet for the past week so everything tastes delicious. But, I’ll give it a try

They’re both delicious, I really can’t tell the difference.

Emma: We’re going to take a look at an Oakville Bakery that virtually disguises the lack of flour, making a gluten free cupcake sound and taste delicious… are you going to finish that?

TT TEASER MAPLE SYRUP

Emma: Here’s a look at what’s coming up later in the show.

Natalie: It’s a pretty sweet story if you ask me. Check it out.

TT TOP TREND POLE DANCE – Blue screen with fireman vid behind

Natalie: Firemen? Now this is what I’m talking about!

Emma: Not exactly, I know you were saying you’re saying you’re not very athletic earlier, but let’s take a look at a workout where you only need a pole

Natalie: Pole jumping?

Emma: Not quite.

Natalie: What exercise uses a pole?

Emma: Let’s say, it’s a little more complicated than this. And there’s an interesting story how one woman went from teaching children, to teaching women a way to improve their health and self esteem. Why don’t I just have Natalie Bull fill you in.

TT OVER THE TOP MAPLE SYRUP

Natalie: It’s well known that Canadians are famous for our maple syrup but did you know that it takes 40 litres of the syrup you tap from trees to make just one litre of the syrup you pour on your pancakes?

Emma: That’s a little ridiculous eh?

Natalie: It is ridiculous! But delicious.

Emma: Yeah, but did you also know that maple syrup has calcium, vitamin B, zinc, potassium and magnesium?

Natalie: No I didn’t. I don’t even know if Alan knew that! Our eccentric reporter Alan Campbell went out to get a close up look at one staple of Canadian culture.

HOST CLOSE

Emma: Well, Natalie, we’ve sure had a lot of food on the show today

Natalie: Good thing I learned a new exercise to work it all off. Now all I need is a brass pole… Hey! Anyone have a brass pole? Anyone? No? Okay…

Emma: I don’t think you’re going to find that here. What you can find are more of those gluten free cupcakes, or maybe if we’re lucky someone will whip us up a batch of pancakes to go with that maple syrup.

Natalie: My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Emma: Deal. That’s all from us here on Take 21, join us next time for our last show. I’m Emma Wiatrzyk.

Natalie: And I’m Natalie Zazuluk. Thanks for watching.
